REMOTE PUMPING UNIT (RPU)
REMOTE PUMPING UNIT (RPU) — A weatherproof (NEMA 3R) base platform
and control panel used to extend the pumping distance from a main storage
tank to a day tank that has a standard pumping system. It includes a NEMA 3R
cover.
An RPU by itself does not include a pumping system (pump, motor and
controls). Instead, the supply pump and motor (single or duplex) configured
for the day tank pumping system is re-locate the to the RPU platform. Note—
the pumping system controls remain at the day tank, however a pump running
light is located at both the day tank and the RPU.
All RPUs are 24” wide. The cover height and platform depth are determined by
the number and size of the pump(s) and motor(s). Options attached to fuel
inlet, such as check valves and solenoid valves, must also considered when
determining The platform depth (contact factory for assistance).
Note — a Pump Set must be specified if optional accessories, such as: fuel
filters, strainers, flow switches and meters, gauges, isolation and by-pass
valves, etc.are to be included in the overall fuel system. (see Pump Set section
of this catalog.)
