PID SERIES CONTROL MODULE
There are two PID slaves—Modules #3 and #4.  Like the DIO
module, it receives power and communication the other
modules via the backplane connection.  Additionally, terminal
connections receive input from external devices such as the
Ultra Sonic Sensor.

The input data received is processed depending upon the
sending device.  If an action is required, a signal is outputted to
the predetermined device that will initiate the corrective action.

For example, the Ultra Sonic Sensor is continuously sending
level readings to both PIDs.  If a reading reaches a
predetermined value (action level) indicating the tank needs
more fuel, the PID will send a signal to the pump motor to start
refilling.  The filling continues until the Ultra Sonic Sensor
reading reaches the action level indicating a full condition and
the PID send a “stop” signal to the pump motor.
